Zurich, Switzerland – January 13th, 2026 – Voliro AG, a global leader in advanced aerial robotics for industrial inspections, today announced the appointment of Timo Müller as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Florian Gutzwiller, who has served as CEO, will transition into a strategic role as member of the Board of Directors, remaining closely involved with Voliro’s long-term direction and growth.
The leadership transition reflects a strategic step as Voliro moves from commercial deployment to the next generation of autonomous, physically intelligent aerial robots. Timo Müller combines deep product leadership with hands-on field experience, having shaped the Voliro T platform and worked side-by-side with customers since Voliro’s founding. That end-to-end understanding of both the technology and real inspection constraints uniquely positions him to lead Voliro into its next phase.
Voliro’s future depends on leaders who understand not only how to build advanced robots, but how those robots must physically interact with the world,” said Florian Gutzwiller. “Timo has that understanding at every level. I am proud to see him take on the role of CEO, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead Voliro into its next phase. Transitioning to the Board allows me to focus on long-term strategy while continuing to support the team and the vision we have built together, as Voliro moves beyond ‘fly and see’ toward autonomous, contact-based industrial work at height.”
In his new role, Timo Müller will focus on advancing Voliro’s product, strengthening customer partnerships, and scaling global operations while maintaining the company’s strong technology-driven foundation.
Becoming CEO is first and foremost a commitment to the team and customers who have shaped Voliro since 2019,” said Timo Müller. “I am excited to take on the leadership of this next era. Together with an exceptional team at Voliro, we have set the benchmark in aerial robotics for contact-based inspections at height. Now we are building on that foundation to deliver the next generation of autonomous aerial manipulation capabilities, addressing the built world’s inspection, repair, and maintenance challenges.”
As part of this transition, Florian Gutzwiller will continue to support Voliro as a member of the Board of Directors, alongside an experienced board that combines leading expertise in robotics and deep industrial domain knowledge. The Board includes chairman Prof. Dr. Roland Siegwart, Professor for Autonomous Systems and Director of Wyss Zurich at ETH Zurich, whose work has shaped the field of autonomous robotics, and Dr. Matthias Bichsel, who brings decades of executive experience in global energy and industrial operations providing strategic guidance as Voliro scales its technology into real-world industrial environments.
With this leadership structure, Voliro reinforces its commitment to technological excellence, customer-driven innovation, and long-term value creation in the industrial inspection market.
